About Festive-D® Eye and Ear Drops

Rating of sales:

Description

Festive-D® Eye and Ear Drops are manufactured by Laborate Pharmaceuticals. The key components of the medication are Ofloxacin – a second-generation antibiotic from the Fluoroquinolone family with a broad-spectrum activity against susceptible organisms, and Betamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid used as a topical anti-inflammatory agent.

Indications:

- bacterial eye infections (conjunctivitis, mucopurulent conjunctivitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, and blepharitis) followed by inflammatory symptoms like swelling, redness, irritation, itchiness etc.;

-bacterial ear infections (otitis externa, chronic suppurative otitis media with perforated tympanic membranes and acute otitis media in the presence of tympanostomy tubes) followed by inflammatory symptoms like swelling, redness, irritation, itchiness etc.

Ofloxacin effectively fights Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Propionibacterium acnes, Enterobacter cloacae, Haemophilus influenzae, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens.

Do not use Festive-D® Eye and Ear Drops to treat a viral or fungal infection in the eye or ear.

MOA (mechanism of action):

Ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It inhibits DNA gyrase (type II topoisomerase, and topoisomerase IV) – an enzyme crucial to separate replicated DNA, thereby inhibiting bacterial cell division. This results in bacteria death and elimination of the infection. Betamethasone reduces inflammation by stopping cells from releasing the inflammatory chemicals. When it is applied directly into the eyes or ears it alleviates inflammation locally.
